My Personal goals and expectations at HNG 8.0 Internship.
A little about myself:
I’m a recent graduate of biochemistry, currently working as a visual designer and at the same time self learning to become a Frontend/UI Engineer. To an extent, I’m comfortable working with html, css and JavaScript. My journey as a self taught developer has been quite challenging and fun as well.
I recently got enrolled in the Frontend Track at HNG x Zuri Internship to advance my career in programming.
The HNG Internship is an ambitious attempt to change the way education is done in Africa. It’s the bridge between learning to code, and becoming the best in the world. It is a 3-month remote internship designed to find and develop the most talented software developers.
It is worthy to note that
"the internship is designed to surface the very best of candidates out of a large pool of participants. It is fast paced and challenging, and helps people learn how to work in teams, deal with pressure and quickly expand their knowledge".
It focuses more on participants from any region in the world; with prior experience either in Frontend Development, Backend Development, UI/UX Design, Mobile App Development or Digital Marketing.
At the end of this internship, I hope to achieve these goals and objectives:
- To be proficient with frontend technologies and frameworks.
- To have a better understanding of data structure and algorithm.
- To gain real world experience and industry exposure.
- To have projects to include in my portfolio from completed tasks assigned.
- To learn how to build reusable code and UI components.
- To make new friends, build a community and share knowledge.
- To learn business culture and how to collaborate with a team.
- To understand how to create accessible, scalable and user-centered digital products.
- To gain better understanding of search engine and web performance optimization techniques.
- To earn a full time employment offer as a junior developer.
